Program Qualifications

  1. Students will be able to respond to and discuss literary and cultural works and will learn how to be innovative and how to generate new forms of knowledge and modes of understanding.
  2. Students will take an active role in ethical issues related to their area of study and will conduct research on literary and cultural texts.
  3. Students will learn to serve society by passing on knowledge in national and international research and educational platforms.
  4. Students will have expert knowledge in literary periods and movements in English literature as well as literary genres and terminology.
  5. Students will have expert knowledge in multiculturalism and issues related to ethnicity, gender and social class.
  6. Students will be able to assess other literatures than English.
  7. Students will have a background in literary theory and analyze literary and cultural texts within that framework.
